Viewing
the images
Almost all the images in this PictureBook are taken with a digital camera at 2 megapixel or higher resolution. Some are shot with an SLR film camera and the prints scanned at 200 or 300 dots-per-inch (DPI) resolution.

Each high-resolution picture is from 800KB to 2MB in file size, and obviously not suitable for display on the Web. I have reduced each image to either 600 pixels or 800 pixels wide for the PictureBook Web site.

HOW TO VIEW THE IMAGE: When you move your mouse cursor over a thumbnail picture, a brief descriptive text box appears. Clicking the thumbnail will bring up the full-sized picture. However, the pop-up picture will be resized automatically to fit the Internet browser window of your computer.

To see the picture in its full 600- or 800-pixel width, move the cursor over it. If the picture width is larger than your browser window. an orange icon with four arrows will appear on the bottom right corner of the picture. Click the icon to enlarge the picture to full width. (See example of the orange icon in the fish photo.)
